Based in Hong Kong, they are a hard-core sci-fi lover with a pronounced affection for anime and a keen interest in science and societal themes. They describe themselves as an "observer of the frontier of human beings," deeply engrossed in the profound impacts of future technologies on humanity.

W.J. Sam holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a Master's degree in Interactive Design. Before dedicating themselves to writing, they worked for a top big-tech company and spent over five years in the game industry. This deep, practical experience in digital architecture provides them with a special, grounded insight into the cyberpunk genre. They are best known for crafting technical science fiction layered with mind-bending mysteries, a sharp intellect, and a signature cold humour.

Currently, they are writing the Metaverse Detectives series, a gripping sci-fi crime saga set in the Neo Era of 2048.
