W.J. Sam
I am W.J. Sam (also known as Helios Shen), a speculative fiction author based in Hong Kong. A hard-core sci-fi lover and quiet observer of the frontier of human beings — exploring the complex intersections of society, digital architecture, and virtual realities.
With a Bachelor's in Engineering and a Master's in Interactive Design, I spent years in the game industry before turning to writing. These hands-on experiences with digital worlds gave me special insight into the mechanics of the future.
My current series, Metaverse Detectives, is a cyberpunk blend of crime and suspense set in the Neo Era of 2048 — perfect for fans of Sherlock Holmes and Cyberpunk 2077.
